The son who receives the inheritance of God

References: Gn 1, Rv 21:7, Mt 11:27, Gal 4:1-7

Only those who overcome can receive God’s inheritance.

Before discussing the topic of inheritance, we must understand God from God’s perspective. For the last 6,000 years, Satan has ruled over God’s creation. After conquering the world for himself, Satan will never willingly cede control to God.

292

We have to develop the ability to overcome and rule over ourselves. We must overcome more than just the world and the devil; we must overcome ourselves.

The Nationwide Shinchonji Open Word Seminar

Shinchonji is testifying about the long-awaited fulfillment of the New Testament prophecies.

Christians have been waiting for a long time in eager expectation for the fulfillment of the New Testament, but just like believers in the time of the first coming, no one clearly understood how God’s will would be fulfilled. Today’s Christians need no longer look forward to the fulfillment of the New Testament because the fulfillment has already come according to the Bible.

The faith of the sheep and the goats

References: Heb 3:18-19 (Heb 11:33-39)

In Mt 25, Jesus promised to gather believers to him at the time of the second coming. Among those are gathered to him, Jesus prophesied that some believers would be like sheep and some would be like goats. Jesus promised that the sheep-like believers would inherit the kingdom of heaven and that the goat-like believers be expelled from heaven and sentenced to an eternity of punishment in hell (Mt 25:31-46).

These words are a grave warning to those of us who believe.

Judgment and the standard for a true life of faith

References: Rv 22:18-19, Mt 7:15-20

The prophets in the time of the Old Testament and Jesus and his apostles in the New Testament were all called heretics, persecuted, and even killed by the religious leaders of their respective generations (Mt 5:10-12, Acts 7:51-53, Mt 23:30-31, Heb 11:35-39, Lk 20:9-15).

The time and place of Revelation 22

Revelation 22 describes God’s kingdom, the tree of life, the qualifications for entering the holy city, and the identity of those who remain outside the holy city. Those who are sealed by God and Jesus in Rv 14 (i.e., the twelve tribes) become the tree of life that bears twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. They will see the face of God and will reign with him forever and ever (Rv 22:1-4).

The final destination for believers

References: Rv 10 (Rv 2, Rv 3, Mt 24:45-47, Jn 14:26)

We, as believers, have understood from the Bible, which is God’s word, that God created the heavens, the earth, and everything in them. He created the kingdom of heaven and has been working for its completion on earth as it is in heaven. Through the Bible we know about the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of hell. We know about the existence of eternal life and eternal punishment. We also know that just as sin and death entered the world through one man, Adam, resurrection from death and life come through another man, Jesus (1 Cor 15:21-22). This is why we live our lives of faith—so that we can enter the kingdom of heaven and receive eternal life.

The holy spirit and the secret of heaven

References: 1 Cor 2:10-11 (Mt 13:11; Rv 5:1-3)

God’s spirit is a holy spirit that knows God’s secrets. Men, too, have spirits that know the secrets of their hearts. Since God hid his secrets in parables (Mt 13), no one in heaven, on earth, or under the earth has been able to open or even look inside God’s sealed book (Rv 5:1-3). We can only know the truth if God decides to reveal it to us. There are many people who interpret the Bible using their own imaginations, despite the fact that God has never revealed his secrets to them. These people are liars who have received the spirit of the devil.

The time and place of Revelation 21

Revelation 21 is about the fulfillment of Mt 6:10. It describes the new heaven and new earth and how the holy city comes down out of heaven.

The first heaven and earth betray God and are destroyed (Rv 13, Rv 6). After the destruction of the first heaven and earth, the new heaven and earth are established as the twelve tribes are harvested and sealed by the revealed word (Rv 12, Rv 7, Rv 14). This group is also described as the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony in Rv 15.

The reason for persecution

References: Acts 7:51–53, Mt 23:20–33

Those who persecute and those who are persecuted

The Bible helps us discern God from the devil and the pastors of God from the pastors of the devil.

Over the last 6,000 years of God’s work, there have been people who persecuted others and people who were persecuted (Mt 5:10–12). In every generation, those who persecute belong to the devil and those who are persecuted belong to God. God’s pastors love, forgive, and bless others, while the pastors who belong to the devil persecute, curse, lie, and create conflict. Thus, we can help discern who belongs to God and who belongs to the devil by their actions.

Jesus' blood of the new covenant and its fulfillment

References: Mt 26 (Lk 22, Rv 5:9–10, Jn 6:51–57)

Since Shinchonji Church of Jesus1 is God’s kingdom of priests and chosen people that has been created according to the promises in the New Testament (Rv 1:5–6), those who interfere with Shinchonji will be cursed. Jesus said that the days of the second coming would be like the days of Noah and the days of Lot (Lk 17:26–30). This means that people who read the Bible can know what will happen at the time of Jesus’ second coming if they know what happened at the time of Noah and the time of Lot.

The living and the dead

Reference: Jn 5:24–29

Jesus said, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead,” (Mt 8:22). Who are these living and dead people about whom Jesus was speaking? There are dead people whose bodies are alive but whose spirits are dead and living people who have living spirits even though their bodies have died. The martyrs and the Jews at the time of Jesus’ first coming are a good example of this concept. Although the bodies of the martyrs died, their spirits continued to live. This is in contrast with the Jews at the time of the first coming who were alive in the flesh, but whose spirits were dead.

The conclusion of Revelation

Reference: Rv 1:1-8 (The summary of the whole book of Revelation)

At Jesus’ first coming, he said, “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear,” (Jn 16:12). After he ascended to heaven, Jesus showed his disciple John visions of the future. John recorded his visions as the contents of the book of Revelation (Rv 1:1). Revelation 1:1-8 is a summary of what John saw.

195

A great many people have shed their blood to pass the words of the Bible down to us. There is a Korean saying that goes, "Someone else's death is not as significant as my cold." This saying should not be true of us. If people shed their blood to pass the scriptures down to us, we must take an interest in the Bible.

English

196

God told Noah to build an ark and only allowed the few people who obeyed his word to board it. Why was God forced to kill all those descendants of Adam who disobeyed him? Why couldn't he just take the few obedient people to live somewhere else? God had to kill all the disobedient because he was worried that Noah's family would see Adam's descendants and be corrupted by their evil influence.

English

198

We do not have control over life and death. Anyone who does not obey God's commands must disappear. God will take care of that problem.

English

199

God will be with and bless those who are beautiful in heart. How can God be with and bless those who are loathsome in his sight?

English

200

Our first objective is the 144,000. The framework for the accomplishment of that objective—the establishment of the twelve tribes—is already complete. We are still in the process of accomplishing that number. When we are doing our best for the accomplishment of that objective, we are fulfilling our appointed task.

English

201

The truth is a narrow path. This is why we must organize and arrange the truth in an orderly and systematic way.

English

194

Without knowing the Bible, we are nothing but superficial believers. No matter how loudly they talk about salvation, can such superficial believers be useful to God? God gave us the Bible so we can read and understand it.

English

193

We should examine ourselves before we blame Adam and think we are better than him.

English

192

We must have the same spirit as Mary. Her heart cherished the word and desired to keep it, and so was more pleasing to God than the hearts of others (Lk 10:38-41).

English

191

People who have really understood God will no longer have any greed.

English

190

Where have God, heaven, and Jesus come? They have come to the pastor promised by Jesus. Should we tear that page out of the Bible?

English

189

No one should think of the Bible or God's word as a joke. Only people corrupted by Satan can think that way. Since Jesus, the prophets, and the apostles all shed their blood for us, no one should consider God's work some sort of simple game.

English

188

If death were the last punishment for humanity, there would be no reason to bother believing in Jesus. Since eternal punishment is waiting for people after death, we must make every effort to avoid it and enter the paradise of eternal life.

English

187

God has been working for the past 6,000 years for today. People who are not spiritually alert or who are still bound to their past will not be able to attain salvation.

English

186

Instead of merely believing in this word, we must be created into complete people through the word. Since our father God is the word, we must also become the word. We must become the word made flesh if we have been born of God's seed. Let's become walking Bibles.

English

197

Jesus told people at the time of the first coming, "You are deceived because you do not know the scriptures or the power of God." Even if we have come to Shinchonji, if we do not know what Jesus meant, we are no different from the people at the time of the first coming. That is why I have been telling you that you must know and understand the Bible.

English

202

If you are a Shinchonji person, you should act like one.

English

203

We must listen to the word with all our hearts. We should listen as if the word is our life.

English

219

The kingdom of God we are establishing is the city of truth. It is a kingdom of justice and righteousness.

English

218

How can you claim to love and believe in God, whom you cannot see, while you do not love and trust the people around you? Does that make sense? God is logic and truth. We must love one another and work closely with one another. We must be honest and not lie. Instead of harming others by lying, we must speak the truth in love.

English

217

Just as a silkworm becomes a silk moth by eating mulberry leaves, we are being transformed and resurrected by eating the word.

English

216

We should ask ourselves what percentage of us is of God and what percentage is of the world. We must be transformed into God's people.

English

215

If we really understand this present time, we must have the same purpose as God. We must work for him with our fists firmly clenched. This kind of time will never appear again.

English

214

If we have truly understood the love God has shown us and the blood Jesus shed for our sins, there is nothing we cannot do. If we understand that this work is what saves our bodies today, there is nothing we cannot do. If we offer our bodies to God, there is nothing we cannot do.

English

213

We must fix our thoughts and everything within us on God and the kingdom of heaven.

English

212

Today is the time for God's promises and everything in the Bible to be fulfilled. People who don't realize where they are even after coming to the twelve tribes of God's kingdom still belong to the world. People who belong to the world cannot have their names written in the book of life.

English

211

There is no other place for people to go. People who turn a deaf ear to our message without considering it deeply will meet their end just like the people of Noah's time. No matter what people like that say, it will not do any good. God is creating a new kingdom by collecting only the good grain.

English

210

Our objective is to fulfill God's will.

English

209

This word is symbolized by the crystal-clear water of life, but it is also likened unto a path. If you continue on this path you will find what you have been seeking.

English

208

If you have truly understood that nothing is more precious than your life, you must strive to perceive well and master this word. You should make every effort without being told to do so.

English

207

We must make every effort to be made complete. You must first set yourself straight. This is why the scriptures tell us not to judge or measure others.

English

206

If we were living as we did in the past, we might think that we still have more time or that there are still promises left for us. But now is the time for the promises of the new covenant to be fulfilled. We no longer have anywhere else to go. Everything is coming to an end. This is why we must clearly understand the present time and the covenant that is being fulfilled today.

English

205

No one is more foolish than those who gossip and nitpick day after day without having any knowledge or abilities themselves.

English

204

Regardless of age, the word applies to everyone.

English

220

Jesus spent time with and lived among beggars at the time of the first coming. We must lower ourselves and serve others. Let us move toward more perfect faith.

English

184

Which is more valuable: the treasure map or the treasure? Treasure maps are for finding treasure. The passages in the Bible about the tree of life are like a treasure map. The treasures to which they lead are the people who appear in fulfillment of the Bible—the people of Shinchonji.

English

165

A person who does not understand properly will not try to improve his life of faith. Only when we are born again of the water and the spirit can we make it to heaven (Jn 3:5-6). Those who cause trouble instead of being changed and renewed by God's word should just leave Shinchonji.

English

164

At the time of Moses, people had to listen to Moses. At the time of Isaiah, people had to listen to Isaiah. At the time of Jesus, people had to listen to Jesus. In the same way today, people must listen to the one who speaks on behalf of God and Jesus. Everyone should make every effort to hear, believe in, and obey his teachings.

English

163

God does not acknowledge superficial lives of faith. To have proper faith, we must make every effort to understand the word and we must pray to God. We as believers must devote all our strength to save ourselves by understanding the mistakes of the past, who we are, and who we are meant to be.

English

162

God's only wish for us is a complete life of faith. No amount of gold or jewels can compare to the value of the work of God. Let us have faith and become people of value to God.

English

161

Instead of relying on people, we must consider the word our teacher and path of faith.

English

160

We can keep the new covenant by inscribing the word clearly in our hearts (Heb 8:10-12). It is only when we keep the new covenant that we receive salvation. Those who believe and obey the words of the New Testament are blessed (Rv 1:3). Those who retain the word and persevere are good soil (Lk 8:15). If you truly regard the word as the seed of life and light, you cannot neglect it.

English

159

The best of all work is the work of God. We should even be willing to lay down our lives for the work of God.

English

158

We must teach what is absolutely certain.

English

157

We must change our thoughts that are tied to our flesh and the sinful nature. We must have the thoughts of the spirit.

English

156

Blessed are those who are persecuted. Those who persecute, however, will be thrown into hell. Still, persecutors must exist to fulfill the scriptures. We believe in the Bible because its prophecies are fulfilled.

English

155

Since God's word is symbolized by the seed of life, shouldn't we be transformed when we receive it? It is only when we are transformed that the mortal can become immortal and the perishable imperishable (1 Cor 15:51-54).

English

154

Although the Bible promises we will receive a hundred times what we have to give up (Mt 19:29), it will be enough when we receive eternal life. When the whole world belongs to God, we will gain the whole world as our inheritance. That is no small reward.

English

153

If we are serving God as our father, we must be strong-willed and courageous like God. If we are in the position of serving God as our father by judging the former generation and creating a new one, we must be people of the highest caliber. Let's not be petty, narrow-minded people who obsess over insignificant things that can trap us.

English

152

People might say that pearls or treasures are valuable, but nothing is more valuable than life. True life is a gift from God. True life is the life that allows us to live forever.

English

151

Shouldn't we jump into the water if we want to save someone from drowning? God's will is that we use any means necessary to save the lives of others.

English

166

Those who refuse to believe the truth when they hear it should give up going to heaven. They don't believe, nor do they make any effort to believe. People who lived in the time of Moses must have wanted to die. They failed to enter the Promised Land when it was right before their eyes because they refused to believe in the teachings of Moses. Today, we have received the best teachings in the world—the best teachings that have ever existed over the last 6,000 years of biblical history. How can people who are not inspired by that have any hope to enter heaven?

English

167

Let us be acknowledged by God, who searches our hearts. Let us carry out his work with an attitude that pleases him.

English

168

Soldiers should act like soldiers. If you don't know the word, you should study it even if it means losing sleep.

English

183

Because one person overcame first, everyone else can now also change and overcome. The entire tree—its branches and leaves—must be changed so we can overcome. In doing so, our names will be recorded in the book of life. It is only those who are sealed and belong to God who can reign as kings with him forever. Do you believe this?

English

182

If we truly know and believe today, there is no need for us to look back to the world. The Israelites suffered so much to enter the land of Canaan, but we are trying to enter God's kingdom of heaven. God is holy. If we are to live with the holy God, we must become worthy. If God is the tree of life, shouldn't we also become trees of life if we want to unite with him?

English

181

Gems are just gems, but the Bible describes Jesus as the precious stone of heaven. This precious stone is the gem of life that atones for our sins and grants us eternal life.

English

180

Not believing in God's promises is the same as not believing in God.

English

179

The new covenant is God's law. Can someone who does not know the law judge fairly? Just as judges must master the laws of their jurisdiction, we must master and be able to teach the laws of heaven—the 66 books of the Bible.

English

178

Where else should we go? We need to retrieve what used to belong to us. The twelve tribes must know this clearly and not look back.

English

177

There has been much bloodshed over the past 6,000 years as God has been working toward the new heaven and new earth. Once we understand the Bible, even the whole world is not worth exchanging for the tree of life.

English

176

To those who pretend to know the truth, do you really know God? Do you truly understand God's situation? Have you ever been betrayed like God was? Have you ever lost something as big as what God lost? Have you been patient as long as God has?

English

175

Everything must continue to improve. If a house is messy, no one wants to live there. If a house is clean, however, people will want to move in and live there. The spirits of heaven feel the same way.

English

174

Considering the words of Jesus as light is the same as considering the words of God as light. God carries out his work through the one who speaks on his behalf.

English

173

The world belongs to the devil. We must be people who help those who have been captured by the devil to return to God. It is only when we are obedient and have faith that we can receive salvation.

English

172

To become a person who is needed by the whole world, we must have the word.

English

171

Today is the time when the conclusion is being proclaimed. We must consider whether we deserve to be chosen and brought to this place. It is a matter of being a sheep or a goat. A person who is not carrying out a genuine life of faith will eventually become a goat.

English

170

Religion is eternal life. If there is no eternal life, there is no value in religion. Those who merely follow without a clear purpose for their life of faith are following in vain. We cannot gain eternal life if we stay as we are now. We must be born again of God's seed and we must be transformed into God's image. Every one of us must receive the word and become mature as the seed of the word grows within us.

English

169

God sacrificed his one and only son to save humanity. If this is what God did for us, each one of us should think deeply about the kind of people God wants us to become.

English

185

The clothes of our hearts cannot be cleansed with physical water. They can only be cleansed by the word of life.

English

221

Heaven will move with you when you work with all your heart. Do not live your life of faith falsely. You will end up in heaven or hell depending on whether you accomplish the work that has been appointed to you. Regardless of your position, you must live a life of faith. Your top priority should be living as a good and upright believer, and you should seek God’s wisdom as you work.

English

225

Jesus said, "Whatever you do for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." Similarly, whatever we do for the least among us who are in need, we do for God. If we put this command into action, our faith and love will be revived.

English

273

We must have the word to be saved because the word is the source of salvation. We must understand it with confidence to have proper faith.

English

272

We can do everything through him who gives us strength. Before he gives us strength, however, God weighs us just like Job. He wants to see whether or not we will betray him.

English

271

Just because you pray to God does not mean your prayers are delivered to him. Your prayers are lifted up by the angels. God doesn't answer all of your prayers either. It must be the proper time, and you must become a bowl that is ready to be used. When he answers your prayer, God also tests you to see if you will use the answer according to his will. God owns everything. God can give it to you or he can refuse. It is up to God.

English

270

If you are born of the seed of God, you must be like God. Should you be like the devil, if you are born of God? Let us become believers who live their lives of faith with assurance.

English

269

No one should pretend to understand. A good chef using the same ingredients as a poor chef will still make a great dish. This word of truth, which has been hidden for 6,000 years, must be presented in the best possible way to make it easy for people to see its value and see that it is the truth. Are you going to face the end having lived a superficial life of faith? Shinchonji doesn't need such people.

English

268

Evangelism is giving life to people who are dying and leading lost people to eternal life. It is a good deed. Let us do this good deed with all our hearts.

English

267

No matter who you are, if you have come before God, you must strive to become a perfect believer. You must be grateful to God at all times.

English

266

When we become the kind of people God acknowledges, will he leave us to starve to death?

English

265

The appointed task is life. If you fulfill your appointed task, you have attained life. If you do not fulfill your appointed task, you have not attained life. Don't you need to fulfill your appointed task to have life?

English

264

Whenever we build something or make anything, we must keep it neat and clean at all times. It should be kept bright and shiny. Whoever is faithful in small matters will also be faithful in greater matters. We shouldn't look at things as if they are another person's property; we should treat them as if they are our own.

English

263

God will not abandon the twelve tribes because they are born of God's seed and sealed with his word. God won't forsake the twelve tribes because they have been purchased with Jesus' blood. God won't exchange the twelve tribes for the entire world. In the time of the Old Testament, God wiped the world clean for the sake of Noah's family of eight. Today, God would do anything for his 144,000 people. He would even wipe the world clean again.

English

262

Shinchonji is a place of absolutes. We are here to build the city of truth that God desires. Do lukewarm people make it to heaven? Absolutely not! It is so important to be born again with water and spirit. If you want to go to heaven rather than hell, you must be qualified to become a person of heaven.

English

261

Shouldn't we trust God in all things? God gave people water to drink when they had none. God gave people food to eat when they had none. Won't God also take care of all things for us today as well? My question for you now is: Will you trust in God or not?

English

260

If we keep God's covenant and overcome, won't God give all things to his children? If, in spite of God's promises, you are focused on petty matters like how you will live, aren't you just looking back at the world? If you do such things, you are looking back at the world.

English

259

I believe in you. Please also believe in me. Let us become God's victorious people together.

English

274

If you believed in this work 100%, it would already have been fulfilled. You think in your heart, "I will evangelize when I have time. I am good because I have evangelized one person." We must evangelize 100 or even 1,000 people. We must run until the work is completed.

English

275

Those who desire to live will die and those who desire to die will live. If you have understood the time we are living in today, you would not be able to sleep. Your heart would overflow with desire to do the work of God.

English

276

I pray continually before God, day and night. First, I pray that God will protect the family of Shinchonji. Then, I pray that we will all return glory to God and attain victory wherever we go. Finally, I pray that God will help us complete the twelve tribes of Shinchonji.

English

291

Soon, people from all nations, tribes, and languages will come according to the prophecies in the Bible. The great multitude dressed in white will also come. When these faithful and loyal people come from the world, can you guarantee that they will not be better than you? We must strive to maintain our seats. All of this will be fulfilled according to the Bible.

English

290

The kingdom of heaven is where God, Jesus, and the angels are. If we are going there to live with them, we must control our speech and our actions. We must speak the word with goodness, beauty, and grace. We must speak only the truth.

English

289

Whether you believe or not is up to you, but we must testify about the fulfillment as it has appeared according to the Bible.

English

288

We are a precious creation made according to the Bible. When we become lights that shine in the world, the people of the world will be enlightened. They will understand and be saved. I am confident about this.

English

287

We should not stop after hearing the word of revelation and receiving the food of eternal life. We should seal the word in our hearts. The word must be within me for the holy spirit of God to be with me.

English

286

We, as the family of the twelve tribes, should take pride in who we are. We should be able to testify about the truth. People who are like beasts and have nothing to do with God claim to be orthodox and to have already attained salvation. There is no reason for us not to testify about what we know.

English

285

We must proclaim the truth about Shinchonji to the world. Doesn't your heart ache when your child comes home crying after being beaten up outside? God's children should not be like that. We must testify all things with confidence to give the people of the world understanding. We help them to be drawn to the word.

English

284

Who can be considered a true believer? God is pleased with those who know that God has made promises and those who believe in the fulfillment of those promises.

English

283

People who diligently study the scriptures and work to attain salvation without even understanding what is written in the Bible are false believers. Shouldn't people who don't know work hard to learn?

English

282

Someday you may look back with regret and ask yourself, "Why didn't I work harder for God's kingdom?" Think about that day and run as fast as you can from now on.

English

281

No matter how hard you work in the world, all your efforts are perishable. There is no hope in worldly work. Our only hope is God.

English

280

We are living in an incredible time today—the time of Shinchonji. God is re-creating us and helping us to be born again according to his will. We must live out lives of faith that are appropriate for the generation in which we are living.

English

279

It is an amazing thing to become like God and live forever. This is why we must be patient and endure to accomplish God's work. Simply being here is worthless. Not everyone who comes to Shinchonji will enter the kingdom of heaven. Only those who are wise and strive to obey God's will can enter the kingdom of heaven.

English

278

I wrote God a letter saying, "I want to be with you as a spirit." Then, when my conscience objected, I wrote another letter that said, "I will work for God's kingdom even to the last drop of my blood." You too must have had a hard time living in this corrupt and confused world, but our priority is God's work. God has been working for the past 6,000 years. We should be able to work for this short period of time.

English

277

Pray before you do anything. Do not just worry about it alone. Pray with all your heart for the smallest things. Pray for justice and righteousness. Do not try to do it all on your own. Do not just trust in your own strength and deny the power of God and his angels. If God helps you, you can do it. Continue to pray that you will understand this. Allow God to do the work.

English

258

Love one another.

Do not think, "Can someone like me become a child of God?" You can join the kingdom and priests of God today by believing in the covenant in Revelation.

English

Fight the world, the devil, and yourself—fight and overcome.

English

238

We must constantly correct our personalities just like we wash our feet (Jn 13:10).

English

237

Our appointed tasks and being obedient to God give life to our spirits.

English

236

My only hope and my only joy are doing the work of God.

English

235

Make every effort to teach yourself.

English

234

The foundation of a life of faith is filial piety.

English

233

Let us find favor in God by become the word made flesh. Let us also be commended by God as we help the world attain salvation. Let us also accomplish our objectives by fulfilling each of our appointed tasks.

English

232

We are God's fruits born of God's seed. You cannot become God's fruit by your own effort; it only happens by the grace of God. This is why we must be truly thankful to God and Jesus.

English

231

A life of faith is utterly worthless without heaven and eternal life. Without heaven and eternal life, people fall into the ideologies of the world and struggle with their own desires.

English

230

Let us cut the rope tying us to the world. We must not set our hopes on the world. Our true hope is in the kingdom of heaven. We can only live with Jesus when we set our hopes on heaven. Let us transform ourselves according to God's word and resemble him.

English

229

People without the knowledge of grace are like beasts. Let us not become beast-like people who are ignorant of the grace God has given us.

English

228

All of us must examine our hearts so that arrogance will not spring up in our minds.

English

227

Many people say that our inner demons are more powerful than any external enemy. What is the greatest of these inner demons? Ignorance.

English

226

Material goods, fame, and power in the world are nothing but empty dreams. Even if you eat as much as you want in your dreams, will you feel full in reality? If you understand this point, you must run the path to eternal life.

English

224

The world always tries to kill people sent by God. Today, Christians are doing their best to kill Shinchonji. They know their time is near, so they work that much harder. You must be determined. You must work with a heart for completing the work of God, even at the risk of your own life.

English

223

Do not be a bystander in this work. We are here to work.

English

239

First, you must evangelize to yourself.

The life of a branch lies in its trunk.

English

255

We must avoid every kind of evil (1 Thes 5:22). We must not even look at any kind of evil.

English

Let's not become foolish people who return to the thoughts of and things of the world. Our original home is the kingdom of heaven.

English

253

Please do not try to exalt yourself like Satan.

English

252

We must know who we are according to the Bible. We must know with certainty who we are according to the Bible. We have been called as God's kingdom and priests. Why don't you know this?

English

251

Since God is love, we must also become love. Since God is the word, we must also become the word.

English

250

There is nothing better, nothing more valuable than this. If you truly love your family, there is no greater blessing than to help your family become people of the kingdom of heaven.

English

249

We don't have time to look back at the world. We must complete the 144,000 by sealing people with the word of revelation as soon as possible. If you are lazy and take a "wait-and-see" approach, how will God respond?

English

248

The twelve tribes of God's kingdom have been created today according to the Bible. True faith is believing in the fulfillment of the Bible's promises when it appears.

English

247

God's promises are being fulfilled today, but if we fail to carry out the work of sealing ourselves and others with the word, if we are filled with secular desire and look back at the world, will God's promises be completely accomplished?

English

241

I want people whose hearts and thoughts are sincere.

English

242

Tools do not boast themselves (Is 10:15).

English

243

The greatest gift God gives is the gift of his word.

English

244

We get so upset when we lose the smallest of our possessions. God lost heaven, earth, and his people. He lost them all to the devil. This was why God had to leave us. How could he rest? He lost such tremendously important things. He lost them all. How much must he be yearning to get them back?

English

245

We have become God's kingdom and children. By becoming his people and his family, we eat the fruit of the tree of life and live forever. We will renew the world with the fruit of the tree of life.

English

246

When we pray to God, we must offer prayers that are acceptable to God. When we work, we must work and testify God's word in a way that makes God think, "I can't just sit still. I must go help him."

English

256

The prophets and martyrs paid the ultimate price in their blood for us. We must accomplish our objectives and fulfill God's hope by running together. We must live with God in his eternal paradise.

English

86

People suffer damage because of their immense greed (Jas 1:15).

English

85

People have spirits and flesh. Spirits never perish.

English

84

God has experienced all kinds of people over the last 6,000 years of biblical history. We must be determined to resolve God's sorrow no matter how excruciating the effort required.

English

83

If we completely devote ourselves to the work of heaven and fulfill the hope of God and God's kingdom, what more could we want?

English

82

We must make every effort to humble ourselves so that we can enter our hope.

English

81

We should influence people with grace. We should trust and love one another. We are obligated to carry out these righteous actions because we are people who have received grace from God.

English

80

We become hostile to God if we do not keep his laws.

English

79

If people boast proudly about the number of years they have been in Shinchonji, all their work will vanish. We must all humble ourselves like Jesus did.

English

78

Will there be glory without suffering? Can we enter our hope without suffering (Lk 22:28, Rom 8:17-18)?

English

77

It is not an exaggeration to call ourselves Nazirites. Since our tasks are God's work that will allow us to enter our hope, we must work even more diligently.

English

76

We must commit ourselves to serving God by building his kingdom here on earth. We must be determined to establish the kingdom of righteousness and to serve God by fulfilling the 6,000 years of heaven's work. We must be determined to relieve the deep sorrow God has suffered for the past 6,000 years.

English

87

We must always be willing to learn.

English

88

No matter what it might be, we must carry out every task that is given to us, one by one.

English

89

People who are lazy will eventually finish last.

English

99

Anyone can evangelize if they make up their mind to do it.

English

98

Should we be people who just recognize problems, or should we be people who solve problems?

English

97

We, as believers, must know the Bible and use it to discern.

English

96

The devil is prowling around looking for people he can use.

English

95

Heaven is the source of true religion.

English

94

Just as every part of a large machine works in unison for smooth operation, we must all be faithful to carry out the tasks to which we are appointed.

English

93

Once you are determined to work, if you just look around, you will find so many things to do.

English

92

Of course we must work hard, but we should also be mindful and wise at the same time.

English

91

We must resolve to complete the work of heaven.

English

90

It is our inner character that is important. We must always have a thankful and humble heart.

English

100

Judgment is eternal punishment. It is more than death or just ceasing to exist.

English

75

We must be determined to fulfill the work of heaven no matter what it takes.

English

61

God wants us to be born again. Nothing changes unless we are born again. The reason he asks us to be born again is because we were not born of God's seed.

English

60

I won't ask about the past. I don't care about it. Let's just look ahead and continue to run.

English

59

God is the one who created this whole vast universe and all of nature.

English

58

No matter what it takes, we must do everything to retrieve what belongs to God.

English

57

We must be brave. God's people should not be like tiny little minnows.

English

56

The closer the day of the completion of our hope comes, the more we must be self-controlled so that we will no longer sin. We must become the holy kings who bestow only love and grace on others.

English

55

We must keep the fire of evangelism burning until the completion of our purpose.

English

54

If we truly know the Bible, we must inscribe the word in our minds and hearts so that we can carry out our appointed tasks.

English

53

God has been working to redeem us, although we are sinners. As we think about what God has done for us, we must put the love of heaven into practice.

English

52

God's word and authority have not been given to us to use for our own purposes or for killing others. They have been given to us so we can carry out God's work in an orderly way.

English

62

Being shy and pretending to be holy is not the mentality of God. We must have a heart and mind that are willing to die for the Lord.

English

64

We must have our sights set on the whole world. It is only after we make ourselves complete that we can rule over all nations. There is an old Korean saying that goes, "You must first cultivate your morals and manage your household. Only then can you govern a country and bring peace to the whole world."

English

63

The twelve tribes are a creation of God.

English

74

Those who are complacent will eventually be last.

English

73

Knowledge is given so we can believe it. What good is knowledge if you don't believe it?

English

72

Protecting our congregation members is the same as protecting the kingdom.

English

71

Today, we are standing at a crossroads—will God's kingdom be established here on earth or not?

English

70

The only medication a church or person lacking motivation needs is the Bible. Regardless of how many words a person speaks, the teachings of men cannot heal us. It is only through the word of God that we can be cured.

English

69

If you have truly understood your faults, you will repent and correct them.

English

68

Please work hard for evangelism. Evangelism is of the greatest importance. If we are determined, we will certainly be successful.

English

67

What does God want from us? He wants us to offer our hearts to him. God can come to and dwell in our hearts when we offer our hearts to him.

English

66

The pastor promised in the New Testament is the one who has eaten the scroll in Rv 10 and completely digested it.

English

65

Enduring the winds is the path to growth and maturity. We must learn this lesson from God's creation.

English

51

Being sarcastic instead of working—we should not act like this (1 Tm 5:13).

English

145

We must have God's word organized systematically in our hearts. If you have the word well-organized in your heart, you will speak in an orderly and well-organized way. If the word is not organized, you will speak in a chaotic way.

English

136

Even if someone makes a small mistake while working, we should be tolerant and understanding. This is how we should conduct ourselves in establishing and completing God's kingdom of love. Please keep this in mind.

English

135

Let's say you are working on a project that isn't going well. Even if you stop and work on something else instead, you shouldn't feel discouraged or frustrated. It doesn't really matter what task you are doing. Being faithful in the tasks given to you is the best way to complete your tasks.

English

134

No one is higher or lower than anyone else. Even Jesus said he came to serve. He told us to humble ourselves. Isn't it only when we obey Jesus' command by serving others and humbling ourselves that we can become Jesus' disciples?

English

133

We must realize progress in everything we do. We should not continue with any work that does not progress. We must do our best and continue to analyze what we are doing carefully.

English

132

The holy spirit is not stored in just any bowl. Clean spirits come to clean places. Water is used as a symbol of the word because we can be cleansed by water. If anything in our mentality is wrong, we must wash it away with the word.

English

131

God and Jesus came down from heaven to this lowly earth. They humbled themselves to give us life. God's people must be transformed and do as God and Jesus showed us.

English

130

Since Shinchonji is one, we should share whatever is good with one another.

English

129

We at Shinchonji do not need people who are not really believers. We must become true believers.

English

128

Let us not make small mistakes bigger. Let's love, forgive, and bless one another. Satan works through people who see others sin and then gossip about it.

English

127

We were enslaved by wickedness because of our sins. God gave up his one and only son so that we can become his kingdom and priests (Rv 5:9-10). Even if we work to the point where our bodies are crushed and immobile, we can never repay the grace we have received.

English

137

A pear tree bears pears. A persimmon tree bears persimmons. If I am complete, then the person I am teaching will become complete as well.

English

138

Forgiveness, love, and blessings come from God.

English

139

At this time when the blessings promised in the time of Moses—the kingdom and priests of God—are being fulfilled, we must neither disappoint God nor ourselves. We must become people acknowledged by God by sincerely acting according to his will.

English

150

Doesn't the Bible say that jars must be poured out and emptied (Jer 48:11-12)? Only when what was once stored in us is completely poured out can new things be poured in. We must not judge Shinchonji with our own standards and our own thoughts.

English

149

Even after making it all the way to the church, you must strive to become a sheep-like believer (Mt 25:31).

English

148

To be qualified to go to heaven, you must be born again of water and the holy spirit (Jn 3:5-6, 1 Pt 1:23). No one who lacks the water and the spirit can enter heaven. This is why we must all be sealed by and born again of the water and the holy spirit.

English

147

If you have little understanding, you will have little faith. Just attending worship services is not enough. We must strive to become true believers who have obtained faith through complete understanding.

English

146

If we are born of the word, we must become the physical fulfillment of the word. In doing so, we can also become the branches, fruit, and leaves of the tree of life. People who are not born of the word speak nonsense. It is not really worth talking with these people.

English

144

Roughly 2,000 years have passed since Jesus came into the world. Have the problems of aging, sickness, and death been resolved since then? I am asking this so you will distinguish the time in which you are living, who you are, and the place you have discovered.

English

143

Jesus said he would come quickly, but 2,000 years have past since that time. Paul also spoke as if things would be accomplished very quickly, but it has been such a long time. This generation is different. Now is the time when things will be finished quickly.

English

142

It is nice to have a beautiful a face, a charming a voice, and a kind a heart, but there is nothing more beautiful than having a spirit full of wisdom.

English

Our citizenship is in heaven (Phil 3:20). How is it, then, that you have set your hopes on and are bound by the world? Why can't you get yourself out of the world? Let's not be foolish.

English

140

If you truly believe in God and Jesus, you must pray before them. There is a Korean expression that says, "Sincerity inspires heaven." If you really believe that God exists, you must be alert and show him your sincerity. If you do so, heaven will be inspired.

English

126

If we want to carry out epoch-making work, we must work and pray that God will give us wisdom (Jas 1:5-8). If we take heart and make an effort, we will be able to do anything.

English

125

We must wash each other (Jn 13) and be united as one (Zec 8:16-23).

English

111

People are deceived for two reasons: they indulge their own thoughts and they do not know the Bible.

English

110

God needs people who are sealed.

English

109

Truth will certainly overcome. Please take heart!

English

108

We can develop willing hearts through mental discipline.

English

107

No one should return to the flesh. We must prevent ourselves from returning to the flesh (Gal 3:3, Heb 3:12-14).

English

106

Why is it that among leaders, the first become last? Irresponsibility and lack of ability.

English

105

We are in the midst of a war. In times of war, soldiers are needed most.

English

104

Do you think God gave up his only son for nothing (Rv 5:9-10)? We must live and work as people who are worthy of the price God paid for us.

English

103

We become useful workers only when we make an adequate effort. If this is the case, shouldn't we make every effort to become useful?

English

102

We appreciate the fact that any volunteer work or offerings we make are more for our own benefit than for the benefit of others.

English

101

Sheep-like believers are obedient believers (Heb 3:18-19).

English

112

In order for the smoke from our incense (prayers) to be lifted up to heaven, we must pray without any speck of untruth. We must pray to God with our very lives.

English

113

Complete faith comes from complete knowledge.

English

124

All branches must grow together. Just because one branch has grown a lot doesn't mean it will become its own tree (Rv 7:1-8).

English

123

There is an old Korean story about a secret royal inspector who pretends to be a beggar. Jesus was a secret inspector sent by the king from heaven (Jn 3:13, Jn 5:43).

English

122

Whether we live or die, wherever we go and whatever we do, we must always remain in God and do God's work. We must become people who display God's glory.

English

121

Our hearts should be joyful when we do God's work. It is a greater feeling than any other in the world.

English

120

Some people think they are better than others or that others are incompetent. Should we be like that?

English

119

People who keep still after receiving this word must be dead.

English

118

Harvesting only takes place for a brief time.

English

117

Religion is not limited by borders. It includes all nations.

English

116

A person must have the word to be needed by everyone.

English

115

We must always remember that we are standing at the crossroads between life and death (Dt 30:19-20).

English

114

Just because you work does not mean you can't evangelize. There is nothing you cannot do if you make an effort.

English

38

If you have selfish desires and interests, cast them aside completely. We must be created in God's image.

English

37

Let's become the best and the most virtuous of kings (Rv 5:9-10).

English

36

We must work and evangelize while there is still time left for us to do so.

English

35

Regardless of how high or how low, those who abuse their authority will eventually be outside of Shinchonji.

English

34

I plead with you! Let's open our hearts and think straight. Let's humble ourselves and strive to do God's work!

English

33

We must be acknowledged by God and by the world.

English

32

We must not pursue material things, authority, or high positions. We must not covet.

English

31

Are you going for a higher position? We must be humble and work hard.

English

30

If you know our appointed task and our hope, you cannot sit still for a single moment (Heb 3).

English

39

Babylon does not fight against Babylon. They are cursing us because the spirits working through them are different from the spirits working in us.

English

40

If you deny the book of Revelation, who do you think you are? We must reflect on this and realize who we are through the Bible.

English

41

We must all collaborate together for the work of God.

English

49

If heaven truly exists and if you truly have faith, you should be faithful in accomplishing your own appointed tasks instead of talking too much.

English

48

Just like Jesus, we must lower ourselves and carry out one another's duties.

English

47

Instead of caring about authority, we should just work with the thought that there will be nothing left to wish for if we can only attain heaven.

English

46

In order to enter our hope, we must make an effort to humble ourselves.

English

45

The core of religion is driving wicked spirits from our hearts and welcoming and serving the spirit of heaven instead.

English

44

We must embrace both good and bad people. We should help people fix their problems. We must not stray from the organization by creating dissension or sects.

English

43

The more people come, the more order becomes necessary. God needs people of order and truth. He does not need disorderly people. We must have the truth and become his holy kings.

English

42

Shinchonji is one. Wherever you work, it is still for Shinchonji. Shinchonji must have twelve tribes. No one should promote his or her own ideology or work for his or her own gain.

English

50

The word within you will teach you and tell you what to do.

The pastors of God and the pastors of Satan prophesied in the New Testament

References: Rv 2 and 3 (Mt 24; Rv 10; Rv 13; Rv 17)

Who are the pastors of God and the pastors of Satan who appear at the time of the second coming? Where do they appear?

Revelation is a book that contains a consolidated version of all the prophecies of the New Testament (Rv 22:18-19). According to Rv 2-3, the work of the Lord’s second coming begins with the messengers who prepare the way—the seven lamps at the tabernacle of the seven golden lampstands (i.e., the Tabernacle Temple).

Jesus’ cross and atonement

Main reference: Jn 1:29 (Mt 6:12, Jn 6:51-57)

The wages of sin is death (Rom 6:23, Jas 1:15), which means sin brought death into the world. Since that time, everyone dies in and through Adam. Since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes through another man in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ (1 Cor 15:21-22).

The era of Shinchonji—the new heaven and new earth

References: Rv 21 (Rv 6, 7, 14; Gn 37:9-11; Gn 1)

The name Shinchonji means new heaven and new earth. The new heaven and earth are created after the first heaven and earth pass away. The first heaven and the new heaven both refer to God’s tabernacle, while the first earth and the new earth refer God’s chosen people (Gn 37:9-11).

Prayers like arrows up to God

Regardless of where you are, what time it is, and what your concern may be, send a short, strong prayer up to God as if you are shooting an arrow.

Let us always remember to shoot our prayer arrows up to God continuously, 24 hours a day.

As you open a window …

“May today be a day in which I open my heart wide like the heart of the Chairman!”

17

Prayer changes us weaklings into powerful instruments for God.

English

18

If we pray according to God’s word, we will become workers who can change the flow of history.

English

19

We are often disappointed and complain when our prayers are not answered. We should remember that God does not always answer "Yes," sometimes he says "No."

English

20

Faith grows through prayer.

English

21

You may have already received the power or ability to do something, but if you do not continue to pray, you will lose it.

English

22

Just believing once is not enough. We should continue to pray to maintain our faith.

English

23

What happens when we fail to prepare with prayer? Sometimes God’s silence deepens our faith. Silence from God does not mean he is ignoring us. If we are more desperate in our prayers, we can even overcome God’s silence.

English

24

The best blessing is not something of the world. It is God's acknowledgement that we are true believers. We can receive this blessing because we believe in the open word of Revelation and in its fulfillment that has been revealed. Remember that what belongs to God also belongs to God's children. Let us not be foolish by throwing away great things for something small and petty.

English

25

Remember that Shinchonji people are never alone no matter where they go. God, Jesus, and the angels walk with them at all times. You must understand that Jesus walks with you because God's and Jesus' words are with you. Shinchonji people must be the light wherever they go and they must shine their light to the world. This is how you can give glory to God.

English

26

Paul said in Romans 8, "If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ." He also said in 1 Corinthians 5, "Even through I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit." Please understand that the spirit of the one who led you is with you. There is no reason for you to feel alone or that you are carrying out your life of faith alone. You do not have to feel alone; you can walk on the perfect path in all things. Do not ever forget this.

English

27

We have to work fervently and earnestly. We must pray zealously and we must work eagerly in all things. God will fulfill all things according to our faith.

English

28

If you see God's work but treat it as though it is someone else's job, you are not a believer. People think going to church is what makes them a believer, but we know that true believers are the people who do God's work with a heart like God's heart. If you see some messy papers, organize them. This is the kind of mindset we must have because this is the kind of mindset of a true believer.

English

29

We shouldn't think that we will become the perfect priests and soldiers of God when that day comes. We must become the perfect priests and soldiers of God in order for that day to come.

English

16

Prayer is the best armor for our lives of faith. Just being able to pray is grace and power.

English

15

Prayer can change everything.

English

14

Since people of prayer can understand God’s will clearly, they do not wander around aimlessly. They live life like a straight line.

English

1

God promised he would set up a kingdom that will endure forever. What must we do to become the strongest kingdom and a kingdom that will never be invaded or deceived? What must we do to become the eternal kingdom? First, we must have the truth, and second, we must have love.

English

2

We are running a race of faith. What are we running for? We must run a race of faith acknowledged by God. If we are running according to our own deeds or our own decisions, it is not true faith. We must always remember that we must run the race according to the word of God.

English

3

If our hearts toward God do not change, God will never fail us. Who can take us away from God when God loves us? We must always remember that we cannot live without God.

English

4

We must teach so people can understand correctly. We must point out clearly what belongs to the time of Moses, what belongs to time of Jesus’ first coming, and what belongs to the time of Jesus’ second coming.

English

5

If you are a leader like an instructor or a tribe leader and you do not care whether God’s kingdom is destroyed or whether it becomes the city of truth, you are an obstacle for the development of God’s kingdom.

English

6

How grateful we must be! If the twelve disciples of Jesus were here today in the flesh, just think how hard they would be working to share the word of the testimony. Your body is not your own; it belongs to them. We must believe that we are their body. Considering this, shouldn’t we do our best to do everything correctly? If we continue to just pretend, will heaven accept us? No, it will not.

English

7

God went so far as to crucify his one and only son. Do you think he will just anyone? You must think carefully about this. We should not be people who just go through the motions of teaching. We must testify everything correctly according to each generation.

English

8

Please keep this in mind: God is the word, God’s son is the word, and we too must become the physical fulfillment of the word if we have been born of God’s seed. You must make this true of you.

English

9

Prayer is important because prayer makes you feel with your heart what you have understood with your mind.

English

10

Believing only with your head cannot help you overcome.

English

11

We must wrestle in prayer until we can feel with our hearts.

English

12

Our prayers may be imperfect, but the power of prayer does not depend on the person who is praying. The power of prayer comes from the one who is listening. That is how our prayers can be powerful.

English

13

Prayer is the process of listening to God’s will.

English

The shelter of salvation promised in the New Testament

Jesus was the shelter of salvation promised in the Old Testament (Jn 5:39), but where is the shelter of salvation he promised in the New Testament? People can only be saved by knowing the savior promised in both the Old and New Testaments. What then is the requirement for knowing the promised savior? We can only know him by receiving the revelation of Jesus Christ (Mt 11:27, Jn 17:3). The revelation of Jesus Christ is given by the promised pastor (i.e., the one who overcomes) who serves Jesus and comes in his name (Jn 14:26, Rv 21:6-7, Rv 22:16).

The faith of revelation and persecution

Jesus received the revelation of the sealed scroll of the Old Testament (Is 29:9-14, Hb 2:2-3, Ez 1-3) and told us that no one knows the father except the son and those to whom the son chooses to reveal him (Mt 11:27). He also said in Jn 17:3 that eternal life is knowing the only true God and Jesus Christ, whom God sent. According to the scriptures, those who do not receive the revelation do not know God or his son Jesus, nor do they have eternal life. They are like beasts because they do not know God (Prv 30:2-4). In other words, there is no salvation without receiving revelation.

The world is constantly bidding farewell, but the kingdom of God is eternal

The world today is constantly in a state of bidding farewell. Heaven and earth are as everlasting as the angels in heaven, but the things of the world come and go like the flowers of the field (Ps 103:15). The world is constantly bidding farewell. The world is suffering from frustration, sorrow, mourning, pain, and death. Plants come but leave their seed behind; animals come but leave their seed behind. Isn’t the world always saying farewell? Wealth and power come and go like a dream.

The promised kingdom

Shinchonji is the only kingdom of the one and only true God and it is the place where heaven and earth have become one. Our religion is the form of Christianity created by the holy spirit and our temple is the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony that is promised in the New Testament (Rv 15). The New Testament also promises the twelve tribes of Shinchonji, which are God’s kingdom and priests and the people of heaven purchased by Jesus’ blood (Rv 1:5-6, Rv 5:9-10, Rv 7).

Sin and forgiveness

God, who is the creator of heaven and earth, left this world due to the sin of man (Gn 6:1-3). God loved sinners, and so he gave his one and only son for them (Jn 3:16). Jesus sacrificed his life for sinners because it was God’s will (Mt 26:39, Mt 27). Both God and Jesus gave everything to save us from our sins because of their great love (Mt 1:21). Without this love, the problem of sin cannot be resolved. God chose to save his people rather than punish them. We were supposed to die because of our sins, but God’s great love has saved us from the punishment of death.

Deception and the faith of victory

As human beings, we have our five senses; we can perceive the outside world and we can think deeply about what we perceive. Some things in both the spiritual and physical worlds are genuine, but others are artificial. There are more lies, more confusion, and more temptation, in the spiritual world than the physical. People who deceive and people who are deceived do so because they are not standing on a firm foundation of truth.

God's promised land

The twelve tribes of Shinchonji—the 144,000 priests and the great multitude in white robes—are God’s promised kingdom and the citizens of heaven (Rv 7). We are the sons of God because we have been re-born with God’s seed (Jas 1:18, Rv 14:1-4). We are the ones who will inherit the promised land of God. We have united as one nation and one family with God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the angels, and the spirits of the martyrs so we can live together forever (Rv 21).

The hired hand, the false prophets, and the true shepherd

Main scripture: Jn 10

Who are the hired hands, the wolves, and the true shepherd at the time of the first and second comings?

John the Baptist was a man sent by God according to the promises in Mal 3 and 4 (Jn 1:6-8). John the Baptist was a messenger working as a lamp that prepared the way for Jesus (Jn 5:35, Rv 4:5). John’s father Zechariah was a priest working in the temple in Jerusalem (Lk 1). When Zechariah’s work came to an end, John followed in his father’s footsteps and was sent to the chosen people gathered around the temple in Jerusalem.

The good news being proclaimed to all the Christians of the world

The prophecies Jesus made in the New Testament roughly 2,000 years ago have been fulfilled today in the Republic of Korea. Revelation’s fulfillment has come and it is now the time of the second coming. Christians who meditate on the Bible must pay close attention to the testimony regarding the fulfillment of the New Testament prophecies if are to have any hope of attaining salvation.

Two types of spiritual seeds

The parable of the man sowing seed in Mt 13:24-30 is a figurative description of both what happened at the time of Jesus’ first coming and what will happen in the future. First, let’s take a look at what happened during the first coming of Jesus. Roughly 2,600 years ago, God came to Jeremiah and prophesied that he would someday plant the houses of Israel and Judah with the seed of man and beasts (Jer 31:27, KJV). Approximately 600 years later, this prophecy was fulfilled through Jesus (Jn 1:32, Mt 3:16).

Spiritual heaven and the spiritual sun, moon, and stars

The earth sits in an endless universe, and we can see one sun, one moon, and many stars in the sky. We can see clouds and feel the wind and the rain. The Bible figuratively compared the sun, moon and stars to the members of a family (Gn 37:9-10).

The hidden manna, white stone, and iron scepter

What are the manna, the white stone, and the iron scepter (Rv 2) Jesus promised? In the Old Testament, Physical Israel came out from Egypt and went into the land of Canaan (Ex 12, Jo 1-8). While the people of Israel were in the desert before entering the promised land of Canaan, the people of Israel ate manna from heaven (Ex 16, Jo 5:6-12) and lived in tents (Ex 19:1-2).

The structure of God’s throne

Why did God give us the Bible? What is it that he wants us to understand? God gave us the Bible so we can understand him and obey his will. God forbid us from building idols in the form of anything in heaven, on earth, or in the waters below and he forbid us from bowing down and worshiping gods of our own creation (Ex 20:3-5; Ex 34:14; Jo 23:7).

The tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil

When Jesus came 2,000 years ago, he spoke in parables to fulfill a prophecy in the Old Testament. When he spoke, he uttered things that had been hidden since the creation of the world (Ps 78:1-6; Mt 13:34-35).

What is the true meaning of the two trees in Gn 2:9?

Eternal life according to the Bible

When the Bible mentions eternal life, we should understand clearly whether it is referring to physical or spiritual eternal life. The sun, moon, stars, winds, clouds, and rains are in the heavens, just as the spirits are in the spiritual world. Similarly, in the physical world, all sorts of living creatures, plants, and people fill the earth.

The 7,000 year path of God’s work

6,000 years of biblical history and the time of the millennium

According to Gn 2, Adam became a living being after God formed him from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. Adam and Eve sinned against God, and God was forced to banish them from the Garden of Eden (Gn 3). Adam and Eve’s descendants then passed down the story of their betrayal.

The figurative meaning of sea, ship, sailor, net, and fish

Jesus’ parable of the net employs the physical metaphors of the sea, ships, sailors, nets, and fish to figuratively explain unseen spiritual concepts. Jesus also gave us this and other parables to hide God’s secrets from people who belong to Satan (Mt 13:10-11; Mk 4:10-12).

The lamp and the oil

After he spoke about the signs of the end of age and his second coming in Mt 24, Jesus speaks about the wedding banquet. In Mt 25:1-13, Jesus explains that only those who are prepared will be able to participate in the wedding banquet. What must we do to be prepared? Jesus tells us that only those who prepare the lamp and the oil will be able to will be able to meet the bridegroom. So, what are the lamp and the oil?

The signs of Jesus' second coming (Mt 24)

God fulfilled the promise he made with Abraham at the time of Moses (Gn 15; Ex 12) and the prophecies he made through the Old Testament prophets at the time of Jesus’ first coming (Lk 24:44; Jn 19:30). Ever since Jesus made the new covenant with his people, Christians have been looking forward to being able to drink the new wine with Jesus when God’s kingdom comes (Mt 26:26-29; Lk 22:14-20). At that time, only those who write God’s laws in their minds and on their hearts will be God’s true chosen people (Heb 8:10).

The spiritual creation of heaven and earth

According to Gn 1:1, God created heaven and earth. Contrary to what most people think, God was not creating heaven and earth because they did not exist. Genesis is a promise regarding the re-creation of heaven and earth. What does this mean regarding the kind of heaven and earth God promised to create in Gn 1?
